Lake Manyara National Park is one of the most eye catching national park in the country. Hemmingway dubbed the park as “the most beautiful place in Africa”, Now that’s a great compliment, this beauty comes from the fact that it is found inside a rift valley giving it glorious views of the escapement around it. Large parts of the park is covered by lake manyara, a shallow alkaline water body that attracts both wildlife and birds, flocks of flamingoes can be seen in their thousands by the shore of the great lake projecting a very extravagant scenery.

The national park is widely covered by savannah plains, woodlands and some highlands courtesy of the rift valley around it. It is well known for its unique tree climbing lions that are a rare breed in East Africa. Weather & Climate

The National park has dry seasons between June and October and it gets wet from march to may, January and February are relatively dry with lush green and the scenery pure after the December short rains, this is also a great time for bird watching as migratory birds land in Lake manyara national park. The temperatures are forgiving with the highest recorded at around 28 centigrade during the dry seasons and the lowest around 15 centigrade so it is relatively mild and comfortable. The park is great place to be all year round but January and February when the grass is green and short and the wildlife and birds are easily spotted is a enticing time.
