Our 14-Day Predators & Wildebeest Migration Photographic safari is a popular and affordable way to explore the wild with your own personal guide and vehicle. You’ll also get the chance to stay in comfortable tented camps close to nature. During this safari, you’ll spend five nights in the Serengeti, specifically on the short grass plains of Ndutu, where you can enjoy four full days of watching the incredible wildebeest migration from Serengeti, Tanzania, to Maasai Mara in Kenya. You’ll travel between different national parks, giving you the opportunity to take in the beautiful African landscape, including the stunning Great Rift Valley.
Day to day Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Tanzania - Arusha
Welcome to Tanzania! Upon your arrival into Kilimanjaro Airport and after clearing customs and immigration, you will be met by your Ribris Safaris representative who will transfer you to the lodge for overnight.Overnight The African Tulip
Day 2: Arusha - Serengeti National Park
Fly-in to Kogatende Airstrip (08:30 am) with a local flight, Pick up from Kogatende Airstrip and drive to Serengeti Savannah Mara Camp with enroute game viewing; after early lunch continue game-viewing in the Serengeti. Undoubtedly the best-known wildlife sanctuary in the world, the Serengeti is home to the highest density of animals in the world as well as being unrivalled for its natural beauty, diversity and scientific value. Day 3 - 5: Full Day Game Drive in Northern Serengeti
Two Full days game viewing. It is possible to see many of the Serengeti’s resident wildlife including giraffe, buffalo, topi, hartebeest, waterbuck, impala reedbuck bushbuck, dik dik, hippopotamus, crocodile,and possibility of seeing the Wildebeest crossing the river is higher other animals warthog and diverse birdlife .Large prides of lion reside here, as well as clan of spotted hyena. Day 6 - 8: Central Serengeti
Depart your camp this morning after breakfast with picnic lunch, and head to the central park area, known as the Seronera area, one of the richest wildlife habitats in the park, featuring the Seronera River, which provides a valuable water source to this area and therefore attracts wildlife well representative of most of the Serengeti's species. We arrive in time for lunch and enjoy an afternoon game drive in the Serengeti national park.Overnight at Serengeti Katikati Camp. (BLD)
Day 9: Serengeti - Ngorongoro
After breakfast drive to the spectacular Ngorongoro Crater, a collapsed volcano, once as high as present day Mount Meru. Stop at Olduvai Gorge, a world famous archaeological site for a visit to the local museum, before driving to your luxury lodge perched on the crater rim. No lodges are inside the Crater so overnight is atOvernight Karibu camp or similar
Day 10: Ngorongoro Crater Tour
Today we will leave very early in the morning (after a very early breakfast) and drive to the floor of the Ngorongoro Crater. There we will have a full day game drive, as we will be carrying our picnic lunch with us. The Crater is wonderful place – you descend more than 2,000 feet on steep tracks cut into the crater wall to reach the open plains of the Crater floor. The Ngorongoro Crater is undoubtedly the best place in Tanzania to view black rhino as well as large prides of lion that include magnificent black-manned males. It is also home to huge herds of wildebeest and zebra and many other plains game. An alkaline lake in the floor of the Crater provides a habitat for colorful flamingos and a variety of other water birds. Massive bull elephants feed in the swamps, some adorned with enormous tusks. We will have our picnic lunch at the hippo pool and later in the afternoon drive back to the Lodge.Overnight Ngorongoro Karibu camp or similar
Day 11 - 13: Ngorongoro Crater Tour - Tarangire
Today, after breakfast, you will drive to Tarangire National Park, which is the third largest national park in Tanzania. During your three full days here, you'll explore this beautiful park known for its stunning scenery. There will be plenty of opportunities for game viewing as we drive through the park. You can choose to have a picnic lunch or arrive at the lodge for lunch and settle in, followed by a leisurely afternoon or a game drive.Tarangire National Park features a variety of ecosystems, including grasslands and woodlands in the north and scrublands and wetlands in the south. The Tarangire River runs through the park and flows into Lake Burunge in the west. Notably, Tarangire is home to one of the largest and most easily spotted elephant populations in East Africa. You'll encounter large family groups with many calves born each year, as the elephant population continues to recover from the devastating effects of poaching in the 1980s. You'll see herds of elephants and have close encounters with the matriarchs, babies, teenagers, and bulls. Spending time with these herds will help you gain a deeper understanding of these incredible animals, and you'll feel their wisdom as you spend several hours surrounded by them. Additionally, Tarangire is famous for its numerous baobab trees, many of which are over 400 years old, adding to the park's beautiful landscape.You'll have dinner and stay overnight at Tarangire Safari Lodge or a similar accommodation.
Day 14: Tarangire
Today you will enjoy your last early morning game drive in Tarangire National Park, then drive back for breakfast at the Lodge and thereafter drive to Kilimanjaro with a picnic lunch along the way, arrive at the Airport ready for your home-bound flight.Dinner and overnight at Kia Lodge day use room
